Former Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya hospitalized in critical condition, placed on Ventilator support

Former Chief Minister of West Bengal, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, has been hospitalized with breathing difficulties. The 79-year-old leader was immediately placed on mechanical ventilator support at a private hospital, following his transfer from his Palm Avenue residence through a green corridor.

Bhattacharya, who served as the state's chief minister from 2000 to 2011, has been battling COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and other age-related health issues for some time. His condition is critical, with medical personnel examining him closely.

An official stated that his oxygen saturation levels deteriorated to 70 per cent in the afternoon, leading to unconsciousness and necessitating his swift hospitalization. The former chief minister's health remains a matter of concern, with the hospital providing intensive care and necessary medical attention.
